Estazolam

Estazolam is a short-term drug used to treat insomnia. Insomnia is a sleep disorder that makes people difficult to sleep and do not have enough rest, even though they have the opportunity to do so.

Categories of pregnancy and lactation Category X: Research in laboratory animals and in humans has shown fetal abnormalities or risks to the fetus. Estazolam dose

This medicine should only be used for a short period of time not more than two weeks. The dose of estazolam in adults is 1 to 2 milligrams daily. Meanwhile, the drug dosage for the elderly rises to 0.5-1 milligrams per day.
Take estazolam properly

Use estazolam as prescribed by the doctor and read the description on the package. Estazolam can be consumed before or after meals.

Drug interactions
Avoid using the following medicines with estazolam to avoid unwanted interactions, such as:

  • Significantly increases blood levels of estazolam and is fatal if consumed with ketoconazole and itraconazole.
  • Increases blood levels of estazolam, if taken with erythromycin or fluvoxamine.
  • Reduce blood levels of estazolam if taken with phenobarbital, carbamazepine, phenytoin or rifampicin.
  • Increased effects of addiction, if taken with other sedatives, such as diazepam.
