Tips for handling and preventing prickly vanity on a baby's face
Prickly heat in babies is a natural thing and can appear in any part of the body. Not only does the baby feel uncomfortable, but the intense heat on the face also makes the appearance so unsightly.
Why does sweat appear on the face?
Taking the baby for a walk is a common practice for all parents. Babies are usually fully clothed to wear accessories. The goals range from not being cold to following the current trends.
But did you know that when the temperature around the baby begins to heat up, it begins to sweat.
The process of sweating babies and replacing dead skin cells in babies is not completely perfect. Sometimes, dead skin cells still clog sweat pores. This condition eventually causes itchy red nodules or often called prickly heat.
Hot or hot militias usually occur in warm weather and in humid environmental conditions. This situation makes the baby uncomfortable, so the baby cries and it is difficult to calm down. This situation must be overcome so as not to pose a risk of infection in the future.
The symptoms of heartburn are only manifested by itchy red nodules. Usually, these pustules appear on parts of the body that sweat easily, such as the top of the head, face, armpits, chest, back and groin.
Sweaty face
You can do the following as a temporary treatment when your baby sweats prickly on his face:
- Stick something cold like an ice cube wrapped in a cloth or a cloth moistened with cold water for up to 20 minutes.
- Lightly pat or tap on an area with thorny heat. Avoid scratching prickly heat.
It is not recommended to use ointments or scented soaps unless advised by a doctor.
However, do not worry, here are some tips you can do to deal with the baby's heat:
- Every time a child sweats, immediately change clothes.
- After that, gently wipe the sore skin by sweating with a clean cloth soaked in warm water.
- Then leave the baby without clothes for a few moments until the skin and folds of skin become dry by itself. The aim is to prevent injury from contact with dry towels that are rubbed in hot areas.
- Rub a little baby powder.
- Wear clothes that are dry, clean, and comfortable. Choose made from cotton.
- Avoid using accessories on the head and face area that can close facial pores.
- If the heat of the thorn does not disappear or worsen, take the child to the doctor for proper treatment.
When to take children to the doctor?
Usually, sweating heals on its own if handled properly. However, don't let your child become agitated and go to the doctor if:
- Prickly heat does not improve after handling more than 3 days
- Fever appears
- Severe pain / itching occurs
- There are signs of infection such as pus or recurrence often several times in a short time
- Disrupting children's activities
Hopefully this information is useful for parents. A healthy and happy child is a source of happiness for parents and family.
