dengue fever or dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a disease caused by dengue virus infection. This virus enters the human body through the bite of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, which live in the tropics and sub-tropics. It is estimated that at least 50 million cases of dengue fever worldwide each year.
According to data collected by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, dengue has been endemic in Indonesia since 1968. Since then, this disease has become a major problem in Indonesia, with the spread and number of patients tending to increase every year.
Throughout 2017, we know that there are around 59,000 dengue cases throughout Indonesia, with more than 400 fatal cases. Because the population too, Central Java and East Java, accounted for the majority of dengue cases in 2017, more than 7,000 cases in each province.
