Is Acne in Babies Dangerous?

What causes acne in infants?
Talking about the causes of acne in babies, of course, is very closely related to hormones. Some of the causes of acne in infants are excessive sebum secretion or hormonal derivatives from the mother.

After about 36 weeks in the womb, maternal hormones are still in the baby's bloodstream. This hormone triggers an active oil-producing gland that triggers acne.

In addition, imperfect pores in the baby's skin are also an easy target for dust deposition. Another factor is baby's skin sensitivity.

Acne, also called neonatal acne, usually appears on the face, neck, chest, or back. His appearance is different from eczema. Eczema tends to be more red and itchy.
 
How to beat acne on babies?

Indeed, acne in babies can disappear by itself. However, if you want to overcome it, here are some suggestions from the American Academy of Dermatology:

• Avoid using baby skin care products that are too oily.
• Wash your baby with warm water, not too hot.
• Clean the button with warm water 2 to 3 times a day.
• Do not use acne medicine without instructions from your doctor.
• Avoid rubbing the pimples.

Pimples in babies = pimples later?

If you panic about whether acne in babies is an indication that they will have acne later, don't worry. Acne in babies does not mean that they will tend to experience a rash when they become teenagers.

In addition, acne in infants also will not leave marks. This reddish spot will disappear within a few weeks when the baby is six months old.
