Types of skin diseases that cause blepharitis

Swelling can occur in various parts of the body, eyelids are no exception. Inflammation of the eyelid or blepharitis usually occurs in the eyelid which is attacked by eyelashes.

Blepharitis is usually caused by a blockage of the fat gland located at the base of the eyelashes, which causes irritation of red eyes. However, various skin diseases can trigger blepharitis.

rosacea

Rosacea is a skin disease that is responsible for blepharitis. This skin condition is characterized by small red bumps that contain pus.

Rosacea usually appears on the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. However, a type of rosacea called rosacea eye can affect parts of the eye and trigger blepharitis.

Seborrheic dermatitis
